Description

Here is M27 taken with the Telescope Live SPA-2, both with the old CCD and the new CMOS setup. Combining them together allowed me to add some depth to this image, then I was able to do subtle sharpening to bring out some more detail inside it. Doing that while also bringing up the faint outer shells and trying to keep the noise and stars tamed was a real balancing act in Photoshop. Still, I think it turned out really well for a narrowband image and making the stars come out colorful. The mix on this one in APP combine RGB was Ha at 100% red with a 3.750 multiplier, Oiii at 100% blue and 100% green with a 2.500 multiplier, and Sii at 50% green and 50% luminance with no multiplier. That is how I get away with stars that look RGB on what amounts to an HOO image.
